Heard Chris Cairns on Inside Cricket comparing Bracewell to Tim Bresnan in terms of a strong paceman who hits the bat harder than you think. Quite a good comparison I thought.

Not such a bad comparison in spite of the fact Bresnan is both taller & quicker. They both do hit the deck hard and present a good seam.

As an aside, were NZ'ders actually getting some reverse swing out there? The last 8 wickets fell between overs 45 & 63.

Chris Cairns was on Inside Cricket (Fox Sports cricket show here in Aust) and knew his ****. Obviously still follows international cricket. Corrected the hosts a couple of times.

Love Cairnsy. Still a good looking bloke too.

Yeah how funny was it, he was trying to tell them the last time NZ won a test in Aus was in Perth (and it was) but all the idiots could remember from that series was the 1st test. FAIL.

By the way, does anyone know what this drawn series does for NZ's test ranking? I'm guessing it adds a couple of points but no more. To catch up we really need to beat the West Indies when we tour there next year.

Cairns was also calling for Ponting's head before the series began iirc. Was looking perhaps a little silly after the first test but not as much now.
