u might well be right, migara, but regarding

His rise vs SL was coincidental with the retirement of Vaas and fall of Murali
i seem to remember that sehwag had an excellent series against both vaas and murali in 08. murali was no mug in that series and mendis had just burst onto the scene, too.

While sehwag_fan's intentions in this thread are pretty clear, it's also equally stupid to dismiss Sehwag's achievements vs. SL based on one bad series in 2005. And Murali bowled pretty damn well in 2008 IIRC.
Put it like this. Get Vaas and Murali at their top form against Sehwag in top form, I'll back former two to succeed more than the latter.

And Sehwag_fan just fails to notice that ALL the above matches were POST hamstring injury of Murali. Sorry, you look like a top class numpty when it comes to understanding the points. anmd before 2008, Sehwag Only averages paltry 22 against SL. His rise vs SL was coincidental with the retirement of Vaas and fall of Murali. Unlike other Indians, who score no matter which bowler played.
Vaas averages 42 against India with SR of 90 . :laugh::laugh:

Murali took 29 wickets against India in SL in those 4 test and Sehwag averages 70 in those scored 490 runs .:laugh::laugh:

So Murali took 29 wickets in 4 test vs India in SL with Hamstring. :laugh::laugh:

Sorry but you are a top class numpty who feels that Vaas with average of 42 and SR of 90 against India would have stopped Sehwag. :laugh::laugh:

I think Vaas was done by 2008. Sehwag played him well, and until Prasad came, Sehwag was hammering the medium paced stuff. Vaas played only two series after that, and one against Banglo boys, yet he averaged 40+ with the ball after that series. Murali did take wickets, but it was evident for any one that he was on the wane. Yes both Vaas and Murali played that series, but they were a shadow of bowlers of mid 2000s.

Vaas struggled against India throughout his career .

Average=45, SR=93

Sory, you look foolish. Sehwag would have been a walking wicket against Vaas in swingers. And saying Vaas averaged 42 against India to prove what he did against Shewag further demonstrates my claim that you are a numpty. Sorry mate, Sehwag was a walking wicket for Vaas in ODIs during his peak. Even Sachin found him difficult to negotiate (although he played well).

And a row of stupid smileys will prove nothing as well.

Sehwag scored more runs vs M+W+G than SL flat track bully Sangakara+ Jayawardene combined when OZ toured SL and IND in 2004

Would be fairly even. Maybe Sehwag would average 50-60 and not 75-80 as he currently does. Sehwag loves Sri Lankan tracks, it's pretty obvious in his Test and his recent ODI performances.

Stuart MacGill was a better batsman that half of the guys Hadlee knocked over when he played Australia.
Pretty harsh, Hadlee played against some seriously strong Aussie sides as well as the more pants ones. Dismissed Waugh 3 times, Border & Chappell 6 times each and Boon 9 times.
