Have just caught up with all the play from day two, so I'm sorry if I repeat anything that's already been said (have read the last few pages, but not managed all those since last night).

Ian Bell's innings was absolutely beautiful, so frequently we have seen such elegant 30's and 40's from him, but this was an innings of real substance aswell as being nigh on technical perfection. His positivity and intent against the slow bowlers was impressive, his driving over the top down the ground were awesome.

Colly played the perfect support role, and was looking in excellent nick himself as his innings progressed. Always think his driving through the offside is an indication of how he is technically, and it looked pretty dam good yesterday.

As for the Aussie 'A' attack, Cameron was very good, ran in all day maintained good pace and got it shape away very nicely. George is the person that least looks like an athlete (perhaps behind Cosgrove), he looks unco-ordinated and very raw, has a lot of room for improvement, and if he is the next one in line for the full Test side, they're in serious trouble. Saw him in India aswell, but this confirmed it. He bowled a decent spell yesterday afternoon, but on the whole thought he was well below par.

Bell off again today, another sumptuous drive through the offside.

The current crim incumbent twirler's FC average similarly north of 40 too tbf; reckon Oz is such a graveyard for spinners we have to treat their stats with a pinch of salt.
It's in the pitches I reckon - even Shane Warne and Stuart MacGill don't have outstanding domestic FC domestic records - Warne took 161 wickets @ 34.72 for Victoria and MacGill took 357 wickets @ 33.06 for New South Wales.

I see Trott's guard marking/crevasse is still there from yesterday 8-)

This a very good pitch for Test cricket, green and seaming when we're bowling, hardening up later on when we're batting. Keep doing that all winter and we're golden.

The thing I like about Chappelli is that, love him or hate him, he absolutely loves his cricket, and is happy to talk about it all day, offering genuine insights and knowledge. Which is surprisingly rare among TV commentators

Healy sledging Athers.

What is this, 1997?

Runs starting to come back now, the first hour was pretty bare.

Worst way to get out. Collingwood be so pissed at getting out after the utter crap bowled to him and the nothing bouncer which took the edge.

Quick stat: Partnerships from Bell and Prior average 65 in Tests, with four centuries. Better than any combination of the current England top 7 besides Strauss & Trott.

Oh, and ffs Colly, you dip****. Of the 5 top-order wickets lost, at least 3 were gifts.

The bang he took on the back of the head, a couple of balls before seem to disturb him because the next ball he totally miss timed, then he was through to the slow bouncer too soon.

Yeah reckon he was just frustrated rather than stunned, though. Was just a nothing passage of play for all concerned.
