Was unlucky ITBT.McGrath's figures could look a bit expensive at this rate...
Yes, but Watson is a bigger name than most of the others would be if it were opened up. As I said, past the top thirty names or so, I don't believe for a second that there is any pull from the rest of the international stars. So you might as well fill in with cheaper domestic players. It’s targeted towards Indians yet; last year’s purely Indian 20/20 domestic competition was a complete failure with audiences who held no interest in seeing their domestic players in action. Let’s not forget that in yesterday's game the Jaipur supporters were screaming 'Watson'.
There needs to be atleast a limit of six overseas players at the max. If you open it fully all you will get is 2nd rate domestic players from other countries like Ronchi, Geeves and Thornley filling in posts. It will make no real difference if you had these guys playing or average Indian domestic players.I’ve tried to watch as many games as possible but my only disappointment so far is seeing champion cricketers playing alongside very ordinary domestic players. Today there is going to be a situation where the likes of Herschelle Gibbs is going to be confined to the bench whilst some non-descript cricketer that even the home supporters couldn’t recognise from Adam plays. I’m all for given the Indian U19 kids a go (for the most part they are extremely talented) but has-beens such as Bangar, Joshi hold little interest for me and doubtlessly the majority of the supporters.
If the IPL is going to truly explode the foreign count has to be increased.
That fatso destroyed the chargers. SymondsLove McGrath and the Daredevils. My favorite team by far, even if fatso is leading them.
