It would be OK to play a team of youngsters in 20/20 international because, like rugby 7s, it's not important.I was more meaning using it as a breeding ground for our young talent, kinda like rugby sevens. Send a couple of experienced guys over to guide them though. Maybe a team like:
Vincent and McCullum could be a formidable opening partnership. Both can hit the ball out of the park and both are very quick between the wickets which may prove fustrating for the opposition. Taylor obviously is well suited to 20/20 and Fulton and Styrs provide a solid middle order if the top don't fire. Macka and Oram batting together would provide nightmares for the opposition. Bond and Mills are our two best seamers and and Mills especially is very economical. Patel is outstanding at strangling and getting wickets, likewise Vettori. Vettori will get good high pressure training which will be good for the ODI WC in four years time.
The problem with Vincent and McCullum (or Vincent and Fleming) opening together is that both tend to be either off or on; we couldn't afford for them to both be off. That's why I'd have Fulton, Cumming, or Papps at the other end to provide some stability. And it's not as though those players are the slowest scorers going around.
