Can anyone remember the provincial names ? :D

Western Province
Boland
SWD
Eastern Province Jumbos
Border Bears
Natal Dolphins
Free State Eagles
Griqua Diamonds (now Northern Cape)
Gauteng Lions
North West Dragons
Northerns Titans
Easterns

It will also be good for coaches because we losing too many good one's for lack of opportunity at the top table.

What's happened to Jonker?

He was a key player for us not too long ago.
It is an odd one. Had a shocker in Africa Cup, shocker for SA, shocker in MSL, shocker in BPL.

Is he even playing for Border at the minute ?

No clue. I don't live in East London anymore; just grew up there... and someone has to support them.

I really rated him. Felt like a slightly less talented David Miller. The Jonker from a few years back would possibly make our WC squad, I reckon, considering our batting weaknesses.

Don't remember the North West side being called the Dragons. Then again I was really young back then.

I remember having a set of collectible Border Bears cricket cards with the stats of guys like Boucher, Pieter Strydom and Vasbert Drakes. Good times.

Used to like that Border team. Steven Pope, Tyron Henderson (think he got a Protea T20 cap) & Makhaya too. It shows you how many Proteas actually played for the smaller provinces too like Boland, Griqualand West, Easterns. & Border.

North West wer the weakest for sure. Never remember them competing bar the young elegant Arno Jacobs who then moved to East Cape for franchise system. Now one of the top umpires. Plus also David Pryke who bowled off the wrong foot. Davy Jacobs/Ryan Bailey got a season or 2 in before franchise too I think. Their maroony-red colours were nice.

Now North West could put a decent side together.

Schooled in NW

Lubbe
Vd Bergh (wk)
Jonker
D.Pretorius
M.Jansen
Leie

Went to Pukke

Janneman Malan
Marques Ackerman
Kagiso Rapulana
Bjorn Fortuin

Out of curiosity, anyone know why Dupavillon was using 0,5 as his shirt number? The number 05 is practically sacred to me, but I suspect for completely different reasons

Would be nice to at least make it like the rugby / English county. 6/6 with promotion/relegation... Doubt the smaller unions will consent to that though.

Think Werner Coetsee also played for the Dragons in their last couple of seasons, as did Garth Roe...

Didn't we move to the Franchise system because the provincial one was considered weak? At best I was hoping for two more franchises to compliment the ones we already have. Maybe it'll work out for the best.

He is quite a good photographer and think he has specialised instagram account woth 0.5 in it but can't say exactly why. Maybe some good humour ?

Bowling lovely here tonight. Step above. Got to think SA A won't be far off if he stays fit.

Werner was a very under-rated cricketer !

We went away from strength v strength when quota system was so strongly imposed. Too many players missing out or take too long to get top level exposure now.

Wicket is turning. Subrayen & Maharaj bowling beautifully.

Still think van Tonder has enough class to get in this Knights team even if he isn't a dasher.

Quality knock by Marques Ackerman. Should get Dolphins over the line. Positive, beating infield with proper cricket shots and whippet between the wickets. ODI number 5 type.

Eathan Bosch with a flick for 6 over mid-wicket to give Dolphins victory. Quite a shot for a 20 year okd bowling all-rounder under pressure.

Cobras squad today has no P.Malan, Hamza, JP & Piedt

J. Malan, Amla, Bedingham, Smith, Verreynne, Khomari/Mgijima, Linde, Philander, Kleinveldt (c), Bokako, Mnyaka for me with Paterson, Williams missing out.

If Beuran Hendricks is fit, the Lions team is straight forward.

R.Hendricks, Rickelton, Bavuma (c), vd Dussen, Mulder, Rapulana/Mosehle, D.Pretorius, Fortuin, Siboto, B.Hendricks, Burger
