Yeah, anyone who's picked a player that opens in one format and not in another, for instance, will necessarily have to go down that route I suppose. Players like Tendulkar and Gilchrist force the drafter's hands that way. I think a drafter will have to sacrifice a lot in other departments if he is to pick three openers, all of whom are capable players in all three formats.

Yeah, I think many of us would have two different XIs in composition. Would be a waste otherwise.

I reckon Richie Benaud would have been very handy in the shorter formats.

A spin combo of Benaud and Narine sounds so refreshing. Would be very interesting to watch!

Harold Larwood and Neil Harvey. Think both would've been outstanding shorter format players. I can imagine Harvey being either a "finisher" or an opener in LO cricket, with his excellent running bw the wickets and his precise shot selection. Added to that he is an outstanding field. Larwood would've been perfect for the shorter forms also, in a Brett Lee sorta way. Express pace delivered with high accuracy.
