Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Guy in my team of old hacks brought along one of Lynn’s illegal bats today and a few of us batted with it

Thinking behind it is that bottom of bat is generally dead so they shorten it by 1” or so and add weight to middle

Just ridiculously powerful

That does not surprise me at all. I was studying with a women of Russian background and we were in the cafe with cricket on the TV and she said cricket was not a sport. However she definitely thought chess was a sport.
A majority of the people I come across in Australia don't consider cricket a sport either tbf.

Having just visited Hellfire Pass in Thailand (memorial to WW2 Death Railway POW's), I feel sick reading the latest article about Paine whereby his getting hit in the face is compared to someone winning a VC.

The sight of Paine hauling in a stunning one-handed catch just moments after being struck flush in the face by the ball, and with blood still [stream-ing] from his split upper lip, led Langer and the team to invoke memories of other great acts of bravery. Having visited World War One battlefields in France and Belgium en route to Britain, Paine was then dubbed 'Albert Jacka' in revered reference to the Australian serviceman who earned a Victoria Cross for his heroism in altogether more deadly circumstances at Gallipoli.

This is why I like Keith Miller, ex WW2 fighter pilot so much...

Miller's great quote when somebody asked him about pressure. 'Pressure,' he said. 'I'll tell you what pressure is. Pressure is a Messerschmitt up your arse. Playing cricket is not'."

I generally find Langer’s attempts at motivation to be cringeworthy

Might work for some people but I would tune him out if I was part of the team as it’s obviously rubbish

Word of warning: they take the badge away after a while, I've just found out. I was top fan for a few pages and all of a sudden the badge is gone.

Must be if you don't post often enough

Can't even be ****ed looking up who's going to be playing there.
Australia v Pakistan
Pakistan v TBC (likely to be Sri Lanka, but depends)
England v South Africa
TBC v TBC (likely to be Bangaldesh, but depends, and the other team will probably be from outside the top ten teams entirely)
South Africa v TBC (likely to be Bangladesh)
Afghanistan v India
And a semi final

Cheers.

Wouldn't mind having a look at India v Afghanistan. Down side is if India bowls first it'll be a short day.

Not sure if double post or you can't even be ****ed reading my post about it.
Lol, yeah was world's longest double post tbh. Was gonna leave it there but thought seeing as you'd gone to the trouble of posting the matches, it'd be rude to do so.

And as everyone knows, I'm anything but rude.

Worth noting that Afghanistan have already qualified for the main part of the tournament but Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have not. Good on 'em.

Yeah I'm thinking of going to a match or two as well so I'd already looked it up.

Be funny if Bangladesh don't just because it'll make ***** move down the pecking order of the 85 teams he follows.
