Didn't think he was available. Missed a trick there.
Really wanted to select my No.6, but thought it just a matter of time before someone wised-up to Haynes. Didn't want to miss him.

Happy with the team so far though.

Think it is a nonsense that he is.
Agreed. In hindsight the rule should have stipulated that the player selected must have played a Test match prior to the Centenary Test 1977. There still could have been an exception for players who played no Test matches in their career so we still could have included the banned South Africans.

Bit late to go back now though. Something to consider in another Draft.

Yeah agree, although I did not pick any myself, I quite like the inclusion of players that did not play tests as long as they played the majority of their cricket in that era.

Tbh I see no reason to wait yet again for Howe as he has missed the last 3 Rounds. It would be like flogging a dead horse.

My opinion is that Pothas make his pick. Unless anyone has any objections??

Alf Valentine for my final spot, thought about going for a spinner who could bat a bit but thought I would go with probably the best bowler left.

John Edrich
Bert Sutcliffe
Ian Chappell*
Greg Chappell
Everton Weekes
Doug Walters
Jim Parks
Dennis Lillee
Brian Statham
Ernie Toshack
Alf Valentine

Tail is a bit long but top 6 makes up for it I would say. Lillee and Statham an excellnt opening pair, Toshack and Valentine to keep the runs down.
