We just had Quiney who bowled like him, that's something. Reckon The non gay looking Lyon did an awesome job, sets it up nicely for Punter tomorrow, Oz love being 3-50 or so.

So what is it people have against Hastings exactly?
Has a great domestic record, contributes more than just his bowling because he bowls a lot of overs, in all conditions, keeps things under control and is a decent bat. Was unlucky to take 1-51 - having Amla dropped and several edges go for 4. Seems like the sort of guy who could do a job anywhere in the world. Obviously he's not particularly quick, but seems quick enough.

I think South Africa is still in with a chance, if it's anything below 350. Anything else and the match is lost.

So Australia's 'B' attack made a mess of the Saffers. Their batting has been so inconsistent this series. Ironic that replacement Faf has been their star.

Any ground which provides the swing and bounce like the WACA does allows for a very close contest even if one side gets rolled for 200 first up.

True but SA probably had to bat in the tougher conditions as was predicted before the match so Australia needs to capitalise on this once the ball gets harder. They could set up a winning lead by the third day if they keep their heads.

Does anyone know what time the Doctor came in today? I was busy so unfortunately missed the occasion.
I think they should put a notice on the scoreboard when the Doctor arrives. The crowd would love it. Should allow for a 5-minute beer snake raise amnesty during that time also. A real celebration of cricket in the west.

The ball wasn't doing much off the pitch at all from what I saw, the odd ball would move off the seam as you'd expect, but other than that, pretty true. Was mainly in the air, and ofcourse the bounce is decent at Perth but that will be the same for tomorrow.

In fairness to the boy he's being asked to keep with a (as one understands) chronic back condition.
Kudos to him for sucking it up for the team, but there's an argument that ABdeV sans gloves and Tsolekile would score more than ABdev avec gloves plus Elgar/Rudolph/Duminy anyway.
