Don Bradman

I had a moan at him until he changed it for precisely this reason.
Hang on, this clearly goes against the trend of the entire draft so far. So, if I want, I can now select Miller, or George Headley, or SF Barnes, or Ray Lindwall?

Surely the players we have all been picking have played ODIs and will be judged on that?

If it's now open slather on players who have never played ODIs, I'll take Keith Miller.

If we're still playing by the same criteria we have for the first six rounds, I'll take Simon O'Donnell.

- Sachin Tendulkar
- Brad Haddin (wk)
- Dean Jones

- Ian Botham
- Simon O'Donnell (or Keith Miller)

- Curtly Ambrose
- Dennis Lillee

Even though we scrapped the 50 ODIs rule, I thought people would pick the players based on their ODI performances. And, Yeah. The player must have at least played in ODIs. We can't go on and select the past greats who didn't play in the ODIs. Otherwise, it ruins the essence of the draft.

Meh, I just would've let the pick stand. IMO it was an awful pick, but there's no need to rule out a pick just because we think it's ****. If Howe disagrees with me then.. well that's the point of a draft.

Looking purely on ability, it was a great pick. Just because he did not play in ODIs doesn't mean he would have failed. That is like saying Viv Richards would be a **** pick in a T20 draft, purely based on ability.

It's not so much that it's an awful pick. It's a great pick if any players from history are available. However, most people have been drafting ODI players, and although there was some confusion at the start, every player selected (Sobers included) up until Howe picked Bradman had played at least one ODI.

Certain players from history would've excelled in ODIs. I'm thinking...

V. Trumper
B. Richards
D. Bradman
S. McCabe
D. Compton
K. Miller
L. Ames
L. Constantine
A. Faulkner
R. Lindwall
C. Grimmett

would all be considered for my XI!

That line up needs Graeme Pollock. He scored the first double hundred of List A games. I'd replace McCabe.
