What's this about choice?

Now obviously you woudn't handle it like that. He has a tremendous amount of international experience so it makes sense to get his thoughts about the situation beforehand - you wouldn't be a good manager or a leader if you didn't listen to your teammates, especially ones with a lot more experience than you. But you listen to him, and he either changes your mind (if he tries),or he doesn't. Then you make a decision and he goes wherever you tell him. In the end, as long as you have the job, you have to do what you think is best to win.

FTR, I don't really see the value in this particular change, but your primarily responsibility isn't to any one player.

Sachin has to play at 4 if he has to play at all. Don't see much sense in moving him around.

haha...dude, you know things don't work like that with Tendulkar. You can't say that to him. The man is influential.

Rob Steen has come up with a very cool mock, first-person article on the Sachin situation.

So? If you lose your captaincy because you were too afraid to make a decision, are you going to blame it on that?

Gary Kirsten always wanted me to open the innings: Suresh Raina - The Times of India

Holy moly. Suresh Raina believes he’s got the technique to open the batting for India.

I'd pick Raina over Yuvraj tbh, atleast Raina keeps showing that desire and that he is desperate to play Tests.

I'm actually surprised that he averages only 28 with the bat. Or that he has 13 test wickets (average of 40).

1 ton, 7 fifties, and still such a low average...the England tour really hurt his figures.

Even Yuvraj has the desire.. We cant pick players just because they desire to play
