It's tough, isn't it? Because if he takes too much action in self-defence, then he gets in trouble for obstructing the field.

Does the law say anything about that? By my knowledge, there's no way you can argue that isn't out unless the appeal is withdrawn. It's incredibly unlucky, but so is a ball that decides to roll on a middle stump line and hits you on the foot.
