So why do England play spin so abysmally now?

We are only crap against mystery spin really. Showed in this test that orthodox spin can be played successfully. It is wrist spin and chuckers we have major problems against.

The series in India later this year will be a difficult test but the Indian spinners aren't as good as what Pakistan have so it will be interesting to see how they go.
Herath is about as un'mysterious' a spinner can get btw. Just a hard worker.

Yeah but in the 2nd test he may have got wickets but they were for plenty and we batted sensibly against him. 1st test we batted like planks again like we did against Pakistan.

Still 1 series defeat in 3 years isn't bad, I bet there are plenty of sides wishing they ahd a record like that.:D

And I foresee England having a it of trouble against pace bowling when SA land in England later this year :p
Well yeah but who woudn't? it is called very good bowling.

They will struggle with our attack though. There is enough batting talent on both sides to make it a good contest though, is going to be a cracking series.
