I could have used any other criminal offence and it would have he same effect. Age is not an excuse for doing what he did.

17 is young, especially when considering that he was trapped into it by seniors. First time offence, 17, trapped and pressurised; they should all be valid reasons to show leniency.

And no one was defrauded. They were going to place with this one being an example.

Never in a million years would I have thought Brumby to admit this!!!!!!

How do you know he was 'trapped and pressurised' btw?

It's my personal belief shared by others. For example Atherton thought the same and so did one of the judges who imposed a 5 year ban (he wanted to reduce it but couldn't due to min 5 year ruling).

But something like murder requires a complete different state of mind and therefore should have a different criteria of judgement as compared to spot fixing.

Oh yeah I get that, not trying to nitpick or anything. Just wondering what it was that led you (and the others) to that opinion.

Also the phone conversations. Majeed was swearing and threatening him over the phone. Also when he was nervous.

Fair enough if that is your view on this but that doesn't make the age irrelevant in the overall scheme of things i suppose.
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Why not? Why should a youngster be allowed to do things in an adult world that an adult isn't?

He hasn't been allowed. He has been punished and now should be allowed to play.

Why should he be allowed to play before his (lenient) punishment is ended though?

17 isn't young. Young players get plenty of anti-corruption training at ICC events.

Amir knew what he was getting into was shady. Therefore he should take his punishment like the rest of them.

    The Aamir investigation is over.
The investigation in2 Chennai is the 1 which will be the biggest match fixing case since Salim Malik and Azzuruddin.
