Graham Onions has a pretty terrible domestic record to be so highly regarded by the selectors as a specialist bowler.

That makes no sense. They should be playing the Bangladeshi national side, not the Bangla A side....

Except that it would be a fair insult to the Bangladesh national side. Besides, the Bangladesh A team used to be practically the same as the senior side, given the turnover of players.

Well they need to stop worrying about egos and focus on getting better. England A and Bangladesh national side are a much closer match (though England A would still win it).

They aren't going to get better by sitting on their ass and watching on the TV while an overseas touring party from an established nation plays someone else.

Disagree. I'd back Bangladesh to whitewash England 'A' in Bangladesh.
Whitewash? Highly doubt it, personally. Either way, it would be a much better competition and Bangladesh need to improve by playing sides like England A.

I don't know what the logistics would be but maybe NSW or something can tour Bangladesh or one of the billion county teams from England. That would be a fun contest.

You over-rate the ability of England 'A'.

New South Wales would probably thrash England 'A' btw.

Yea, I'd agree. Just making a point that Bangladesh would benefit a lot from NSW or one of the counties touring. And I'm sure NSW and/or counties would get some good warmup games, and some of the players might get some international exposure.

Pretty pointless debating with conviction who would win a game that a) would mean nothing and b) is not going to be played

Now...did he commit himself to England because he got promised to get selected for this A tour, or did the selectors pick him because they pitied the poor chap who's abandoned his country of birth?

Looks like a squad with heavy emphasis on one-day players tho. Carberry?!

He's one of those fast improving bowlers that is expensive but takes wickets, the sort Fletcher likes. He was leading wicket-taker in FC cricket in 2006 for Durham (54 @ 31.55) due to playing the most games really and was behind Callum Thorp (39 @ 24.82), Mick Lewis (35 @ 29.45) and the veteran Ottis Gibson (49 @ 29.75 - he's a few months off 38) in the bowling averages.
