How Would You Rank The Teams?
With all sorts of rankings systems around, I thought it would be interesting to see where all of you think the teams sit. Just for no other reason than we can see where everyone sees the test and ODI teams sitting at the moment. It may also stimulate some "No, Zimbabwe are better than Bangladesh" (for example) discussion. Please feel free to include the minnows in the ODI table. I will. This does not necessarily have to be based on results, just where you see teams sitting RIGHT NOW.
Please make sure you come up with a ridiculously convoluted name for your tables. The William P Luckton Memorial Cup for Test Cricket Table 1. Australia 2. England 3. India 4. Pakistan 5. South Africa 6. New Zealand 7. Sri Lanka 8. West Indies 9. Bangladesh 10. Zimbabwe The George WPUJC Docherty Trophy, Badge, Medal, Star, and Cup for ODI Cricket 1. Australia 2. South Africa 3. New Zealand 4. India 5. Pakistan 6. England 7. Sri Lanka 8. West Indies 9. Bangladesh 10. Kenya 11. Zimbabwe 12. Scotland 13. Ireland 14. Canada 15. Netherlands 16. Bermuda Interestingly enough, mine aren't too different to the ICC ones.

The best idea to get a totally fair rating will be to take the average rating for each team after lots of members give their ratings and the ratings which will come up then will be unfair.
What I mean is this - Say if 10 people rate India as 2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,5,6 then India gets an average rating of 34/10 = 3.4 and say Australia gets it at 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,2 this gives Australia an average rating of 12/10 = 1.2. The team having the best Average rating, will be the best team. Here go my ratings - The Walls Test Challenge 1. Australia 2. Pakistan - They beat England and India recently. Also, they are much better than India and England in tests. 3. India - Oh come on, we are not that bad. 4. England 5. South Africa 6. New Zealand 7. Sri Lanka 8. West Indies 9. Bangladesh Zimbabwe dont have test status now until 2007 The Big-hitters ODI Challenge 1. Australia 2. India - Look at this - 6-1 against Sri Lanka, 2-2 against South Africa, 4-1 against Pakistan 3. South Africa 4. Pakistan - Would have given them no.2 if it had not been for a 4-1 thrashing against India 5. New Zealand 6. Sri Lanka 7. England 8. Bangladesh 9. West Indies 10. Scotland - They look the best among non-test teams. 11. Kenya 12. Zimbabwe 13. Ireland 14. Holland 15. Canada 16. UAE - Get in here as they are scheduled to play the next Asia cup and played in the Asia cup 2004 as well. 17. Bermuda
