D'you reckon that I'd be committing a heinous crime if I scanned it in here? It's very short.

I was wondering that today, funnily enough. I've just picked up 'Fatty Batter' - read about 50 pages already - and would be happy to write the review if no-one else gets there first. But what's the deal on quoting from a book? Are we in breach of copyright or anything?

Found 'Masters of Cricket' by Jack Fingleton, looks pretty good from a quick flip through.

Yes I enjoyed it, and can recommend it If you have a chance get hold of a copy of 'Batting From Memory", a little long but a great read

Not sure but the mods will remove it, if they think it needs removing

It is fine to quote from a book when doing a review, it is allowed by law

Well a couple of paragraphs in its 297 page length dealt with un-named married players picking up girls in a bar and this was a violation of the Mates Act.

A genuine innocent with a gift for screwing up, Fishy once missed - not dropped, missed - a simple catch in the annual Authors v Publishers cricket match. it was the last ball and the batsman - one of whom specialised in remainders and pulping - ran two to win the match for the Publishers by one run."

Here a few quotes, there are plenty more try about page 32 from memory

Its a damn good book. If you have laid your hands on it. Just go ahead and read it. If you are planning to buy it take it from me its a good buy. If you dont think so - sell it to me.

You cant go wrong with that offer can you ?

Waiting til its on the remainder table tbh - $30 seems a bit steep for the collected thoughts of Jason Gillespie.

Although he's gone a couple of months early with it, you'd think. Better to wait until cricket is being played HERE, and Xmas is closer.
