Doherty in for Starc is a strange one because Maxwell has already come in for Warner. Obviously Maxwell is far from a front line spinner, but part of the concern with the balance of the attack against England was that there was literally no spin options, other than Adam Voges. Even if Maxwell was playing then, instead of Mitch Marsh, it probably wouldn't have been much of a concern. They've gone from no spin options to two.

Southee getting a touch of inswing here but can't bowl half-volleys like that

Edit: And again and again 8-)

Just like India - takes a defeat to learn their lesson about spin, Voges is a horrible bowler, we need two decent spin options.

We've gone off the boil the last couple of overs - Williamson misfielded twice and too many four-balls sneaking in. A wicket would be nice

So weak mentally from NZ, basically given away the good start by gifting 4 easy boundary balls in the space of 3 overs

Really hope Bailey does well here. If only to piss Shane Warne off.
It's almost like no-one notices that Bailey is in the side unless he's captain. I wonder when Warne and Botham will realise that he makes the ODI side even when Clarke is playing.

Or do they think the selectors are picking him as a specialist vice-captain then?

I don't know who's worse, Manjrekar or Bhogle.
I like Bhogle, I know too much about cricket to take commentators seriously, so the more theatrical, colourful and funny commentators are my preference. Manjreker just says what I'm thinking in a dreary voice, while Bhogle does it in a bright voice and he has a great relationship with every commentator he works with. All IMO of course.

He's the only ODI batsmen who makes runs when the chips are down, very consistent and dependable, IMO our best ODI batsmen of the last year.

Is Bailey in the Test squad? Because he's impressed me whenever I've seen him in ODIs, mentally he looks up to it.

He talks far too much.

Sourav really has no idea... the thumb comes off the ball at the point of delivery, why would it matter if it is bandaged?

Nah he's not. Didn't have a great season for Tassie in the shield. Said playing International Limited Overs cricket throughout the summer effected his performances, actually.
