Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Ended up GFIing my game as I'd not lose too many levels and my next cup game is an obvious TIE with what should be a relatively easy win in my next league game after this one and a probable easy cup game after that again.

Cruising at the moment, should win this one easily.

End of Over 28: 128-5, runrate=4.57, reqrunrate=9.05 (326-5)
Baird 2-0-11-1
Everard* 41 (50 balls)
Lund 3 (5 balls)
Last Wicket: Lumsdon b. Baird 37 (FOW: 110/5)

Watkins has been excellent so far, scored 121* (113) and has taken two wickets already. Malik took two wickets in his first over, including his gun NT batsman, and Baird has been useful with 45 runs and a wicket. No wickets for Whitehorne as yet but he made 62 (44). Cuss and Ashton opened, making 38 apiece.

Edit: intriguing match between the two newly promoted teams to my division. On a cracked pitch the team batting first was bundled out for 64...and won by 33 runs.

And that's the end of the match. Asterix XI won by 164 runs.
Asterix XI 326-5
Knuckleheads 162-10

Great start to the season. Watkins will presumably be MotM for his 121* and 5-25, massive improvement on last season already. Got Doobie Bombers next week who beat me in the friendly last week but lost their league match today.

Pretty lucky to win today really. Played a team with a gun NT bat at the top of the order, who destroyed me last time I played them. Chasing 294 (Umar 124, Rhodes 79) he got 100. They BT-collapsed after that really, but TBF their batting doesn't look that much cop after the top 3/4. Rhodes ended up with 6-42 and Hasham got 2-48 as I bowled them out in the last over.

Solid PAN ratings:

Lower Order: woeful abysmal

Perennial league winners NorCricket United are in a bit of strife in their match, but BT-collapse might still see them win.

Easy win today against the weakest time in the league. **** extends his run of unbeaten hundreds in all matches to three.

Matches are still 'in progress' though and the tables haven't been updated.

Hmm my lot with a sodding competent-respectable bowler are better than Knuckleheads.

Haha, so lucky. Guy stranded in 92* at the other end, BT conspiring to play crap tactics. No way a single would've been taken with a number eleven at the other end.

A tie is probably better from my point of view, since the chance of me or either of those two teams being involved in another tie this season is fairly remote, so this way I get a points advantage over both teams, not just one. NorCricket's ratings are pretty similar to mine (exceptional/prof batting, remarkable/superb bowling), our match in a few weeks will be interesting.

Bought this guy for 10k. I know he isn't that flash but i really needed to put some nets on someone else and he can be a decent bowler eventually i suppose.

Interesting. Well, to me, anyway.

I've looked up today's match between the two teams that I expect to finish top of my league - highton and Inter Yerma. I've then tabulated their ratings, along with those from my match, against Bowled Over:

Code:
                [B]Bowled Over Withington Wonderers[/B]
Top Order Superb 10 Superb 10
Middle Order Respectable 7 Respectable 7
Lower Order Worthless 1 Abysmal 2
Seam Bowling Superb 10 Quality 11
Spin Bowling Exceptional 14 Wonderful 13
Fielding Woeful 3 Feeble 4

               [B] highton Inter Yerma[/B]
Top Order Superb 10 Exceptional 14
Middle Order Strong 9 Competent 6
Lower Order Abysmal 2 Woeful 3
Seam Bowling Strong 9 Superb 10
Spin Bowling Proficient 8 Strong 9
Fielding Feeble 4 Feeble 4
I'm assuming highton TIEd or PANned, while Yerma GFIed. I PANned. Looking at the above ratings, and those of the other two matches, it looks like a fight between Yerma and me.

This time next season, I could be in Div I

Seriously though, we're only one match into the season, but I'm a damn sight more hopeful than I was yesterday
Haha, good stuff! I remember doing the same with nibbs' team, and he came so close to joining Adam as a I.1er. Personally, I'll be happy just to be an IIIer next season... :shy:

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I forgot to up how much I spend on ITS for the week. It's been at 10k for ages but I got a good cashflow this week (80k in profit as opposed to the usual 10k) so I was going to put it to the max. :(

Reckon I should use the max amonut of ITS on a yp this week or wait until next week? And what should I go for? I went for a bowler and got a decent one (Gleeson) and the following week did a 0 ITS who turned out would've been a good bowler.

Should I go a batsman? Batsman keeper? I have 17 ITS at the moment.

Indeed, I can't remember how long they said it was going to be down for but hopefully it doesn't screw up our matches.

I'm just hoping I wasn't outbid for the player I was going for.

If I wasn't then I'm getting a pretty good bargain in strengthening my bowling depth (assuming I remember to pick 5 bowlers each week that is!)
