18 overs and no extras. Aus better with the no-balls this time and a reasonable scoring rate from their perspective. They're obviously trying to be tighter. It's gotta pay off sooner or later.

Would definitely not start with Johnson after tea. The name of the game is pressure and Johnson's still not exerting any yet.

Meh....

Just one wicket in that session, and again the problem has been the inconsistency in the bowling, Siddle and Hilf bowled some good balls, but then followed that up with a few bad one's, thats where I think a consistent bowler like Clark is so vital for this attack in order to do well.

Though Horrie looks like he might be able carry out that holding role from one end, but still need a big effort from all the Aussie quicks in the next session.

Looks ominous for Australia even with Ravi looking like a bundle of nerves.
Nah, Bell's in next. Break these two up and crack it open imo.

Second session posed little drama compared with the first, for both teams. [/:shrugshoulders:/]

Amazing that the ball hooped around for a couple of hours this morning but has done literally nothing since

Oz must have kicked the cricketing god's dog prior to Lords

Just provides further emphasis as to what a ridiculous decision it was to leave Clark out

Anyway, that's what happens when you pick a team on hope rather than logic

Bopara has definitely looked more composed and better at the crease today than at any other point in this series, however he's still been feeling for too many of Mich's wide ones for my liking.

Always looks like that when he chases these days.
Thank god Bob Willis isn't the part of the commentary team, otherwise it won't have taken him long to say that "Watson seems like a 80 year old trapped inside a 27 year old's body".

Bopara has simply got a dodgy technique

He's a front foot player who doesnt get forward very far and he constantly plays across it

Anderson is a genuine swing bowler though so it's not surprising that he got the ball to move a lot more than the more up and down Aussie bowlers.

Yeah you are right, there were a few times against Siddle and Hilfenhaus early on when they were bowling fairly straight when I thought, if the ball moves even a little bit and he missed it, he would be out plumb in front. Fortunately he got bat on them despite playing across his front pad.
