Foster has played very useful innings for Essex down the order in T20 and in limited overs cricket. If they were looking for someone who wasn't going to open, he was the best choice.

Yeah he is a better option than Prior, but he seems to obsessed with playing unconventional shots all the time, there is a place for them but not every ball.

Foster is crap with the bat as well, but is at least decent with the gloves, Prior is crap at both. Davies should have been picked fwiw

and the bold part...are you disputing that Prior is a crap batmen at LO cricket, or are you saying he should be picked for his other (skill)?

Didnt he score 87 in the last ODI he played, Wasn't he one of the Success stories of the Windies Tour.. England are crap in all forms becuase of this stupidness.. It's 20 overs ffs and even if prior can drop a few it's ok his batting his destructive enough... IMO

He's got a poor record in both 50-over and 20-over internationals and domestic.
