Australian squad announced

Personally I reckon it would be a waste taking Michael Clarke. His going gun in tests and does alright in ODIs, but I don't think he's a 20/20 player. Given that this squad will play 20/20 matches only his spot should go to someone else.

Redbacks

International Captain
Pup's ability to hit gaps in late overs are so valuable in ODI cricket but unfortunately the sub continent teams have lower order players clearing the fence regularly at later stage of the T20 game. He just needs to find a new game plan to become more effective at T20

NUFAN

I think Carseldine, Bailey, Nannes, McDonald, Hughes and Christian would have all been thought about, but no way am I endorsing all 6 in our top 30.

Hasn't Ronchi fallen far!!.

Definitely seems that way. But do the selectors have the gumption to drop him given they want him to be the next captain? And would that include the T20 captaincy, because I don't think Ponting will play many T20s after this WC?

If they're playing him mainly as a specialist fieldsman, they may as well replace him with Symonds.
Symonds is probably the best T20 cricketer in the world, so there's no way he's being dropped for any cricketing reasons. They'd be quite within their rights to leave him out anyway though.

There's certainly a case for calling up Nannes after his IPL form.

Should also ask Hayden to come back. Doubt he was happy leaving on such a low note and he would completley transform the team with the form he's in.

I know that we shouldn't, and don't believe that we should.

What I'm asking is if technically, "could" we even do that?
I think you can only add to your 30 if someone in there has to be taken out injured. Whether you can add from someone else's 30 I don't know. I think maybe not, because of Ireland's reaction to us naming Morgan in our 30 even though I think he won't be in our final squad.

Has it been that good?. Got to check back, would definately still pick Tait ahead of him once he shows form TBH.

Word im definately down with this. If Marsh aint fit i'd call back Matt ahead of Warner. Hopefully the selectors have the balls.
