Yet another one: ATG Mixed Nations Test Draft

AldoRaine18

State Vice-Captain
Benaud comes in and takes over as the primary spin option in the team, the spin department would have been a bit weak with Hoque handling it alone, but now he will be doing a support job to Richie, like he did to Rafique in the Bangladesh team. The pace department is covered by Procter, Waqar and Bedser. This gives me a final team of :

Aldo XI

01. Sanath Jayasuriya
02. Grant Flower
03. Brian Lara
04. Sachin Tendulkar
05. Greg Chappell [6]
06. Brendon McCullum+
07. Mike Procter [3]
08. Richie Benaud* [4]
09. Alec Bedser [1]
10. Waqar Younis [2]
11. Enamul Hoque [5]

I'm finding it hard to go past AZH at a quick glance. When you have Marshall, Donald & McGrath in your bowling line-up, the batting merely has to do it's job.

Good calculated risk in hindsight; sacrificing the absolute cream in batting for that bowling attack. Not that Sutcliffe, Vengsarkar, Walcott & de Silva are mugs by any means, but you catch my drift.

1. Herbert Sutcliffe

Thanks, you are very kind, I am happy with the team but there are some really strong ones and the voting would be interesting to watch. Like Zinzan said, AZH's team is fantastic as well. As soon as he nabbed the three quicks I knew it would end up very well. A nice strategy.

Your team just shades AndyZs team, just. Weaker bowling but batting is streets ahead. Reckon your team would come out ahead.

I don't want to rain on the parade, but 'streets ahead' in the batting?

If I was ranking the two top 6s, it'd be

Lara
Tendulkar
Sutcliffe
Walcott = Chappell
de Silva
Vengsarkar
Dempster
Jayasuriya
Mahmudullah = Flower

I'd say Aldo has the cream, but AZD slightly more depth. But even if Aldo does shade it with the bat with Lara and Sachin, AZD pulls further ahead with his bowling line-up.

Whoops, I actually glossed over Sutcliffe at the top for some reason. It's a better batting line up still and you're under rating flower there

Dempster is the best tbh.

Aldo has the good all around team probably.
