This is so depressing. We are below the level of associatesLack of non-Matthews hundred there is telling (and it seems nobody has scored more than 79 than Hayley).
I think it'll be more of the same unfortunately, it's a mess.Australia touring and a Roston Chase captaincy does not bode particularly well for the prospects of this changing.
My only hope for any enjoyment is a complete curveball from Sammy and a revamped batting side for tests. But let's see.
Maybe the Windies management see some kind of hitherto unknown leadership qualities in Chase a la Mike Brearley, because he is no Garfield Sobers or Imran Khan…Australia touring and a Roston Chase captaincy does not bode particularly well for the prospects of this changing.

He's 29 absolutely mental like.We knew this was coming sooner rather than later.
Pooran retires from international cricket.
Jason Holder may well be next. Possibly Hety. Rutherford is hopefully too young. This could be the straw that broke the camels back.Treacherous behaviour. He wasn't playing tests, he was being given time away from the ODI set up before inevitably being asked to play the WC qualifiers.
The man was only being asked to turn up for T20is and he still can't be bothered to do that.
A supremely talented player with a completely nothing career.
Let's see how much world cricket really needs a strong West Indies once more of these players call it quits on the maroon.
At least Holder has put in a decent International shift in all formats. Astonished to see that Pooran has only ever played 5 FC matches, he's now just 2 shy of 400 T20's. Even Hetmyer's record looks balanced and acceptable in comparison.Jason Holder may well be next. Possibly Hety. Rutherford is hopefully too young. This could be the straw that broke the camels back.
Posting this again…
Echo Molehill's sentiments. Holder I'd have some sympathy for - gave a lot to West Indies Cricket as captain for a decent while and I'm not sure he ever had the backing that Pooran had - both from public and board giving him so much leeway to pick and choose tours until very recently.Jason Holder may well be next. Yeah a lot of people will say " he has to get paid " but Pooran was allowed a very flexible schedule to play franchise cricket to earn serious coin so he wasn't exactly struggling to pay the bills.Treacherous behaviour. He wasn't playing tests, he was being given time away from the ODI set up before inevitably being asked to play the WC qualifiers.

Hetmyer's career has been on a downward spiral for a while now.Jason Holder may well be next. Possibly Hety. Rutherford is hopefully too young. This could be the straw that broke the camels back.
