Will Starc deliver in tests?

Bracken? was consistently 25 kmph slower then Starc also did not have the killer swing that Starc gets looking back i just don't know how bracken achieved so much success there is a limit to success you can achieve just on the back of variations and accuracy.
I recall Bracken as being basically another Kyle Mills, who bowled a ****load of slower balls.

Has it in him to be the best leftie OZ has ever seen. Not that there's much competition but still....

Tall, super-quick, swings it miles and doesn't get injured too much. All the ingredients are there.
Took a quarter of his poles against India and Pakistan. Minnow basher.
Ha ha, I genuinely can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but between Ferris, Johnston, Davo, Reid and the other Mitch (with Whitty, Toshack and Dymock hovering in the wings) I reckon Australia have probably produced more competition in the top quality left-armers category than anyone else.

the first ball of the match that he bowled to guptill should be his stock line and length imo. if he sticks to that his pitched up deliveries that come back into the right hander should get him plenty of wickets.
We joke about him swinging the 2nd new ball but he really needs to work on his stock ball when there's no swing. He often seems floaty when he pitches the red ball up looking for swing. Hopefully he can carry his current form and confidence across.

Nah his stock ball should be much shorter than that IMO. He needs to use his height much more, which means when it isn't swinging he should just plug away on a length.

Yeah that first ball as I remember it was just that, unless I'm remembering wrong.

The real issue with Starc was that he sprayed the ball around. He talked several times about working with McDermott over the world cup. The way he has performed in the WC has been exceptional. The thing, is he did spray it during the ODI series preceding the WC. I don't expect him to be near as good with his lines as he should be in England this summer. He is just a young lad still. However, he should still manage to take a lot of wickets. Starc will be unplayable in England at times. If he continues the path of improvement, he can take a lot of test wickets over his career. His curve this season from a guy who bowled some nice bullets but was very inconsistent with lines a few months back to the way he is bowling now, has been remarkable.

Will Starc deliver in Tests?

Yes. Every single ball that he bowls he will deliver.

Thanks for that n00fers. Maybe you should wait until you actually conceive before trying on the Dad jokes.

I think in general Starc has been a bit too full. Probably needs to just pull back the length a little so his stock ball is at or around the bails and going across the right hander to get the slips more in play. Then the inswinging fuller on will be deadly.

He has all of the tools to be great. After playing the WI he will have the confidence as well.

I don't know if he'll consistently be as good in the long format but I can picture England being bowled out at least once for less than 70 on the back of his destruction.

You're aware Whitney played, like, 2 Tests right.

given that harris and johnson are certainties in the ashes, imo hazlewood brings more balance to the attack than starc
