Last person to look on target for equalling the fastest ever to 50 wkts was Hirwani in 1988 who had 31 wkts in his first 3 Tests (Record for most wkts after 3 Tests) and he then made it 36 from 4....

....unfortunately , it then took another 7 tests from him to take his next 14 wkts...

It is possible, but given Sri Lanka's seemingly god-given ability to hammer Bangladesh into the ground every time that they meet them (a factor, possibly, delaying Bangladesh's progression to Test-class), it remains to be seen whether he'll get a bowl for long enough to take the required amount of wickets (27 more, I believe).
