Who would be your top 10 greatest Asian cricketers?

That's just the pre war post war split where the game changed too much to be comparable, if something like that happens again then yes. But greats of the Bradman era are still considered greats today.
But it's wrong. Grace was immense compared to his peers. While his best was gone, come the test era, his best in the comp that mattered before then was bradmanesque. Put him in today's gear, with today's conditioning and stuff and he'd be more than Smith with bat and more than Anderson with the ball. He'd be a marked improvement on sobers

Murali would still be up for serious consideration. Some people choose two spinners too.
He wouldn't though. Having a guy who is such a cut above in Murphy sort of renders the second spinner obsolete. And even if you had a second one, you'd want a non-offie who could bat. Warne and O'Reilly are better options.

Sangakkara seriously competes for the 2nd XI like Murali (in #murphmentum world), for many as a batter; for many as a keeper. Why does he, in your opinion, clearly not make the cut?

I’d consider Grace (22 tests) to open for a Test XI well, well before Barry Richards (4 tests).

I am evaluating Sanga as a bat only. As a wicketkeeper he is safe but short of worldclass standards for an ATG XI. As a bat, he wasn't even clearly ahead of the rest of his time.
