Cricketer Of The Year
I didn't even realize we had spinners in this list.
Um yeah, I don't know how we compare fast bowler and spinner skill, lol.

spinners are born inferior to pacemen.I didn't even realize we had spinners in this list.

So consequentially they must be more skillful in order to have anything comparable of a level of performance to a pacer, surely?spinners are born inferior to pacemen.
Great reply. So consequentially they must be more skillful in order to have anything comparable of a level of performance to a pacer, surely?
Murali at the top of the skillful list then. Although, his physical gifts are not inferior to anyone, in my honest opinion.
Bumrah is lara of fast bowlingHis opening spell in the recent Aussie series matches up with anything I saw from Wasim. For the simple reason that he is bowling the same tight length and his change in swing is happening delivery to delivery with the same wrist and is completely indecipherable for the bat. That's a nightmare. Wasim didn't have quite that level of control and would occasionally spray the odd one out there.
In the WC on flat batting surfaces in India, Bumrah was bowling late swinging balls that curved through the air from middle to off from the first over. Nobody in the entire tournament was bowling like that. Then he would come later and bowl big booming inswinging yorkers. That's just insane skill.

How ?Bumrah is lara of fast bowling![]()
Yeah it depends how you define skill.I went for Warne, because for me "skill" is more than just being good at the physical mechanics of cricket/bowling. A big part of being "skilled" at anything is having the mental aptitude for it, and there have been few better cricketing minds than Warney.
Ok as you say. Smith is atg and likely to end as best since bradmanHow ?
He is the Steve Smith of fast bowling.
Ugly style for majority of people,
And asthetically pleasing for minority .
Yes ugly but makes it work terribly effectively. How ?

Most people don't realize what and why he is doing what he does in his unorthodox fast bowling action, or why it is so incredibly smart. How ?

Who was a more intelligent bowler, McGrath or Warne?there have been few better cricketing minds than Warney.
I have seen the Slate video millions of times. It's brilliant of course. I would say Wasims stock wicket of lbw to the right hander was better than Bumrahs stock bowl.Did you look at the video I shared of Wasim bowling to Slater?
And this video proves my point. Bumrah is far more lethal off the seam isn't he? Wasim is just swinging it more?
What? Are we watching the same video? He is seaming it both ways. Away and into both right and left handers?I have seen the Slate video millions of times. It's brilliant of course. I would say Wasims stock wicket of lbw to the right hander was better than Bumrahs stock bowl.
But Bumrah isn't seaming it much in this video, he is swinging it with the new ball. Both ways at pace with regularity.
Wasim has more late swing but Bumrah to me could curve it in the air from delivery from the hand..
I don’t necessarily think either was more intelligent. More that they attacked differently, but equally successfully. Warne may have been better at improvising because he naturally had more variation. McGrath’s more likely to take a wicket with his stock ball though.Who was a more intelligent bowler, McGrath or Warne?
Reckon McGrath was better at reading bats but Warne was better at improvising and mind games obviously.
Um he is clearly swinging it from the hand. And the deviation is mostly swing. What? Are we watching the same video? He is seaming it both ways. Away and into both right and left handers?
That wicket of Steve Smith at 1:25 is classic just slightly seam away. Something McGrath would be proud of.
Edit khawaja at 1:25 and Smith at 0:50.
What, how is deviation off the wicket swing?Um he is clearly swinging it from the hand. And the deviation is mostly swing.
