both up there but I'd rate the Kapil 129 in Port Elizabeth above either.

India was 6/31. Alan Donald was in god mode and supported by Brett Schultz.
Tendulkar's 169 in Cape Town was also ridiculous, against a rampaging Donald and Pollock and India 58/5

My late grandfather would have said the title for greatest Indian innings in a losing cause would be Hazare's twin centuries against the invincibles in Adelaide in 1947/48.

But its a sign of how bad Indian cricket was for so long that we take the award for greatest centuries in losing causes

Sachin has a lot of knocks where he is playing an all timer but the team still loses, 122 at Edgbaston, 114 at Perth and the 155 at Bloemfontein come to mind.
