Which batsmen would you choose for these scenarios?

yeah, a turner, on a minefield 200 would be extremely difficult to cross and Joe Root would take a fifer
I was dumbfounded by that level of intellect assuming that pitches are same over time even in the same ground. This is ridiculously childish (non) argument.

what are you suggesting? the pitch was more spin friendly when Sehwag was batting and then became less spin friendly for the other two innings? like reverse pitch degradation?

look, no one said Sehwag isn't the GOAT against spin, relax.

I was reading Viv Richards’ autobiography published in 1991 and he said he was absolutely terrified of facing Indian spinners especially Chandra again. But he spoke to Clive Lloyd who had a good record here, worked on his game and scored a century in the very next game.

This is what I have suggested first.

Viv didn't play anything close to the quality of Murali and mystery of Mendis in his career, when all his peers were falling like pack of cards. Infact when conditions supported spinners like Qadir backed themselves up to get him. Even on dustbowls it was a express bowler who needed to take Sehwag, Only rare exception was very few times Murali was at his absolute best, which are very special conditions.
I am not sure how you got the idea that I've mentioned that Qadir dominated Viv. I clearly mentioned Qadir only became a factor on extremely helpful pitches, and Sehwag, even on those kinds of pitches, against better bowlers, did not struggle.

That's a lot of applauding.
May be two strokes and then it ends. The way Murali de constructed Kevin Pietersen was epic. He always had that ability, and Viv is not immune from that. We are basically discussing uncharted territory for Viv, but experienced territory for Murali.

and I disagreed with the idea that the Galle 201 was made on a pitch as helpful for bowlers as the wickets Pakistan presented West Indies with in the 1980s.
