Now that’s a hot take. Smith wouldn’t perform better than Dravid against Anderson?
No he wouldn't IMO on a seamer. Not that he would be lost at sea, it's that Dravid handled lateral medium pace movement better.

Yes but Viv has a ton in a fourth innings chase on a turner in India already under his belt.
Viv didn't play anything close to the quality of Murali and mystery of Mendis in his career, when all his peers were falling like pack of cards. Infact when conditions supported spinners like Qadir backed themselves up to get him. Even on dustbowls it was a express bowler who needed to take Sehwag, Only rare exception was very few times Murali was at his absolute best, which are very special conditions.

Viv owned Qadir

Qadir is no where close to Murali. And this owning didn't happen on spinning tracks were presented. Mendis bowled in that particular series better than Qadir ever did too. So no, it's not even close.
It did, 1980 Pakistan and the Port of Spain hundred. And you brought up Qadir.

Port of Spain never was a spin paradise like Galle.

Stop it, there is nothing for you here.
I already said Sehwag is better against spin, was just dismantling your statement that Qadir got Viv out on spinny wickets, outside of minefields where even 30 is a great score, that never happened.

Exactly the point. You are proving my point. Sehwag could do it on minefields, even against the best spinner test cricket has ever seen.

considering Sri Lanka made 300 on the Galle wicket, seems like it was not much of a minefield, just a turner.
