Where Does Rishabh Pant Stand Among the Great Wicketkeeper-Batters in Test Cricket?

DrWolverine

International Vice-Captain
George Headley’s brilliance was stifled in an era of too few Tests, a fragile team and a war that stole his prime.

If he played as much as Wally Hammond or Herbert Sutcliffe and scored at the same level, I would have rated him on par or maybe even higher than both.

International Coach
The game was really fun, mostly because I called that England would chase anything over 400 quite decisively. I was wrong though as far as above 400 being off limits, they would've chased 450 on this.
Kuldeep on that pitch would have been decisively different especially in fourth innings. Indian administration don't realize how much a match winner this man is.

Pant is a great bat but one of the worst keepers I have ever seen. Will never be mentioned in the same breath as Gilchrist as he has one half of his job which is massively inferior.

Andy Flower > Steve Waugh though, right? As a batsman

Joe Root>Sachin Tendulkar, Root had zero support home or away until Brook and Jamie happened and Duckett got his **** together.

Yeah, but if De Villiers and Walcott and to an extent Sangakkara keep keeping in their prime I don't think their batting would be impacted, De Villiers wasn't, the only one who admitted he could be impacted was Sangakkara who didn't want to bat 3 and keep at once
Sanga's absolute peak was in 2006-10 period.
