You couldn't reists it .Well India has changed its team composition and now it goes with 5 specialist bowlers, so better wake up !Besides, the present English attack almost always gets a thrashing, no mantter which Englaish bowler is in action and to which team he is bowling to

Ok S.Warne is a huge loss but, as talked about in other threads Australia have so much depth.. they could probly beat teams with their 2/3 teams as well....
Also just because Warne is a spinner why does the replacment have to be.... I mean the South African wickets are fast pitches and would suit a 4 pace attack of McGrath/Lee/Gillespie/Bichel.... then 10 overs from the likes of Lehmann, Bevan, Martyn or just play an extra bowler like MacGill or any other spinner been mentioned.... afterall the likes of Bichel/Lee/Gillespie can all bat as well and that top/middle order will get you runs 9 times out of 10....

some people are saying tyhey dont need to risk warne, are you forgetting this is the world cup, once every 4 years this comes around, this is the pinacle of the sport. if he has any chance of getting on the park in Febuary he will go. It is more than likely that this will be his last world cup and im sure warney would give up a few months of test cricket after the WC to have the opportunity to be in the winning team. Having said that the selectors have a responsibility too. they need to protect Warne and take another specialist spinner to the cup and maybe not play warne in the less important matches like the ones against Canada or someone like that.

There is no denying the fact that Aussies have great depth and can come up with a very good replacement for Warne( If atall he misses the bus) BUT it will still be a big loss as Warne is a match winning bowler , someone without whome Aus might not have won the previous WC!
AS for Watson, he's a highly talented allrounder, i believe he haven't played enough to be written off.Besides Ponting has said that he wants Watson to be a part of the WC squad!

But whenever i saw him he used to bowl in the low 130's . I still remember when India played AUS in AUS. I think in the 2nd test he was the fastest bowler clocking 139 and it had McGrath in that match. Watson at best i have seen him bowl is 131.2 kmph . But i don't think Watson warrants a place as he is not playing that well and also they have so many other talented players.

Watson CAN bowl faster than 140 kmph, which is much faster than blewett.
Watson isnt going as bad as some people think. He is taking a wicket or two each innnings which is enough, and he isnt really needed to make runs at the moment. if you look up some stats you would find Australian havent lost more than a game or two with watson in the 11.

Lets hope that the teams talking part in the WC doesn't have such an attitude (except for England).Otherwise Aussies are going to get a cakewalk!
