Davis joins Dott in the ranks of knocked out players - managed to blow it against John Parrott, despite coming back from 6-9 to 9-9.

*checks calendar. Nope, not 1989...*

Bloody skiing now has a thread, so why not snooker get a proper one.

The Masters started yesterday, and earlier today Neil Robertson, who became the first Australian to win a ranking tournament at the Grand Prix in October, demolished two time world champion Mark Williams 6-0.

The draw and results so far look like:

Wildcard round:

Ali Carter beat Stuart Bingham 6-5
Ding Junhui beat Anthony Hamilton 6-3
Matthew Stevens beat Jimmy White 6-1

Round 1:

Neil Robertson beat Mark Williams 6-0
John Higgins v Stephen Maguire
Ken Doherty v Barry Hawkins
Graeme Dott v Stephen Lee
Ronnie O'Sullivan v Ali Carter
Peter Ebdon v Ding Junhui
Stephen Hendry v Matthew Stevens
Shaun Murphy v Steve Davis
And Arm Wrestling.

Absolute sickener that for Stevens, losing 13-12 from 12-7 up. Means he's out of the top 16 as well. Ouch.

And Mark Selby beat Ali Carter, too.

Stayed up till 12-12, then the safing got the better of me and I fell asleep without getting to know the result. Not boding well for the rest of the weekend.

Disagreed. Found the 8 frames this morning thrilling. Higgins is one of the top 2 all round players in the world today, but Maguire is playing very very well and holding his own.

Edit: Murphy - Selby is dire, though.

Wouldn't have anything to do with you being a plastic Scot would it? At least the finale to the 18th frame in the all-sweatie semi was entertaining tho.

Watched the 30th frame now. You have a point, I'll remember that one for a long time. (Screamed three times.)

Heh @ Higgins going in-off from the yellow after Maguire's brown miss

Playing like a pair of nervous wrecks.
