Amazing that you can post something like that, yet insist that Manure's depth is equal to or better than Chelskis...
United don't have great depth, but Chelsea don't either. You've seen what's happened when they lost Terry, and if they lose Drogba they're even more screwed.

To quote a Chelsea fan at *********, "anyone who thinks we have a big squad is an idiot".

EDIT: Exact quote: "Sometimes a run of very bad luck happens. According to LeTiss we had a certian penalty for a handball turned down.........now we're behind ManUtd by 6. We need defensive help, and badly. Anyone who claims we have a "big squad" is an utter fool."

Well umm there's Heinze, Brown, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra and Silvestre compared to Terry, Carvalho, Ferreira, Boulahrouz, Geremi, Cole and Bridge. That's 7 each plus Bardsley will most likely rejoin the first team after his loan spell. can you objectively state that Chelsea's defenders are that much better than Man Utd's when Man UTd has conceded less goals? Not to mention how leaky Chelsea's defense has looked without Terry while Man Utd has rotated it's defenders during that same time period and still look miles better.

Big whoosh there, you just stated O'Shea is a midfielder, which was the issue.

The likes of Fletcher and O'Shea being semi-regulars in the midfield doesn't show depth.

Also shows you haven't been watching Man Utd games. Fletcher has done well this season and I would hold no inhibitions in placing him in the first XI. O' Shea has played just decent though and you may have a point with him. Oh and he's a midfielder/defender not just a pure midfielder but based on his games this season he's played mostly in midfield which is what I was referring to by calling him a midfielder.

The mere fact that O'Shea is being used as a midfielder immediately counteracts the "depth" argument though - looks like another Mr Hankey coming on...

Never said there was great depth but that people have exaggereated the depth argument RE: Manchester United and Chelsea. They've got greater central midfield depth but a couple buys and that's corrected. BTW, O'Shea is a decent midfielder though. Nowheer near world class but Premiership level.

O'**** is not anywhere near a decent midfielder - it's not his position, for a start.

Still, Marc's argyment is non-sensical - anyone can tell from Chelsea's recent games that they don't exactly have depth either.

It's not his position but he's done well considering and whilehe's not lit it up he's done ok. Ideally a central midfielder should be bought but for the moment I have little problem with him playing there. The only one is his commitment to tackling. If you're gonna play there you have to tackle more. That's just weird considering he's a defender.
