Just thought it'd be a good idea to start off a media style thread where managers can release press releases or mock newpaper articles..

Munich Making Bold Statements about Season One

The team might look like Dad's army on paper, however manager Ian Markus has shot back at critics in Germany who have looked to slam him over the transfer of Schweistinger and Guerrero early this morning. The two young stars were being touted as the future of Munich soccer, however in an effort to strengthen the side in the short term, Markus has given them away for Milan's Seedorf, Tomasson and Ambrosini.

Markus has stated that the reasons behind the move were to "win the title this year". He seems quite sure that Seedorf and Tomasson will feature regularly in the scoring and will give the team extra attacking bite. He also said that Ambrosini will provide very valuable defensive cover off the bench. But what of the future of Munich football. After locals were left angered about the departure of the two stars the pressure is on Markus to keep the long term interests of the team in good hands.

The Munich Board have just announced that they are intending to invest extra funds gained from the transfer to set up the Klinsman Soccer Academy. Markus feels that whilst his Munich side will be one of the oldest fielded in season one that the future will be bright with young stars being produced.

It is clear that the result of the first few matches could prove crucial for Markus. If he is to steer Munich to victory early, the fans will lay off and the pressure will ease, however after upsetting fans early success is a must.

Chelsea may have made the biggest transfer yet in the capturing of Brazilian superstar Adriano, but Marc Robbins won't be resting on his laurels.

He is still on the look-out for more players to strengthen the squad depth in certain areas, although he won't be forced into paying silly money for them.

Arsenal are indeed in the market for a few new player whilst also looking to possibly off-load some of the big earners on the roster, however after purchasing an academy the budget is tight so big money buys will not be possible until cash has been brought in via a few player sales.

Arsenal manager Sledger has released a statement regarding the transfer of thomas gravesen for £4.25 million from real madrid to ajax, in a scathing interview Sledger slammed and ridiculed ajax for spending so much on a player such as gravesen, he claimed that after spending so much on an academy and now gravesen ajax would find themselves in a difficult financial position come the close of the season.

PSV are laughing at Ajax for blowing their entire transfer budget on a rather average player. While we accept he will be one of the top players transfered at this time of season its really quite silly at the money they have paid!

okay firstly, I need your full name and e-mail address other than hotmail. So I can send you your results and also add your name as manager for Arsenal.

Secondly, I'm interested in Vieira, Campbell and Cole.

No, pressure form the board.

I consulted with PSV manager (who is on the board) before the transfer and he indicated it was fair. So a bit annoying that he had a change of heart.

But the rest of the board said he was worth less, so I don't think it's fair for me to keep it as it was.

Celtic place faith in European youth

This season could be a hard one for the Celtic Park faithful. Placed in a league with some of the top teams in the world, many predict a dogfight between Porto and the Bhoys to avoid the wooden spoon, but manager Sean Bennett predicts a bright future for his team.
"The EFL is a very strong league," he said "but we have invested alot of money in the Willie Wallace academy for extremely talented German and Scandinavian teenagers(plus a couple of kids from other countries if they really deserve it) and we expect alot of Baum, Gulbrandsen, and young Roby (not the St Helens 5/8) along with the Irish kid "disco" Tommy Martyn (not the ex-St Helens 5/8). They're good lads and can only get better with age as Celtic will look to compete for the title in the future."
Celtic's only transfer dealing so far was bringing PSV keeper Gomes to Glasgow in order to strengthen a bare position in the Bhoys line up. Bennett added "You know you're in trouble when Magnus Hedman is in competition for a first team place. As soon as we get rid of him the better...and then we can start building towards the future."
