I remember Geoffrey Boycott once saying that Corey Collymore and Adam Sandford couldn't bowl his Mum out even if she batted with a walking stick.....

:D
I am sure Rob Key won't be making any such comments

They may not be the greatest spinners in the world, but they are better then some of the losers quicks that have been picked infront of them. Surley Banks is a better bowler then Collymore, King, Powell, Washington etc.
not collymore

:-O   :@ How dare you say that about Dave Mohammed. He's a very good bowler with a good FC record, who on test debut in South Africa did no worse than the seamers Drakes, Edwards and Sanford but ended up not playing again for the West Indies for 7 months. When he finally got another chance it was in a team which had lost the previous 2 tests and whse bowlers(with the exception of Bravo), again, weren't pulling their fingers out. And to add insult to Dave the opening batsmen, Joseph and Gayle, were used before him. How're you as a specialist bowler supposed to bowl if you know your captain doesn't trust you so much he bowls his opening batsmen before you? Then he gets dropped AGAIN. At least give him a chance to prove himself before slagging him off. How long did it take Flintoff and Harmison to come good? :****ed:
he wont get a chance to prove himself since the West indies dont give their spinner much of a chance remember Nagamootoo & Dhanraj?.... only ramnarine who played his last test 3 years ago was give some sort of a run.

Dont brag too much about the WI first class competiton since it not anything special

Collymore is nothing special, he bowls line and length, that all. He gets no movement and bowls doesn't bowl many wicket taking balls. Banks and Mohammed are better bowlers then him.

Most of the Test-class wristspinners have been Australian, yes, but still... 4 in 100 years. Not exactly a massive number.
Hordern, Mailey, Grimmett, O'Reilley, Fleetwood-Smith (not a great Test record) McCool, Benaud, Higgs, Holland, Warne and MaGill.

Their were a few more, but found it hard to break into the Australian side, so played in county Cricket.

That simple line and length is too great an ask for most bowlers in this world, Best can spray it around and Collins isn't the most consistent of bowlers either

MacGill when England couldn't play wristspin to save their lives...
4... 27... 17.70... 2.57... 41.1
MacGill since England's play against spin has improved...
2... 12... 40.50... 2.87... 84.5
Doesn't take a genius to work-out that MacGill against England cannot be taken as a whole.
Ahem,

Just when did England improve their play against spin?

Surely it's not too much trouble to include a date, and dispel howls of selective stat-grabbing.

Whatever happened to Ramnarine? He was pretty decent IIRC, then just seemed to disappear off the map.

Haha, if Collymore can`t bowl wicket-taking deliveries, how come he got 7? 8-)

Every dog has his day, maybe his better then i thought, thats his 3rd 5-fer in 16 Tests.

But i still think that the Windies should pick their best four bowlers not just four fast bowlers.

So do I, but I believe Collymore is one of the 'best four bowlers'. :)
