Realistically, saying HK is not part of Mainland China is like saying Fraser Island isn’t part of Qld. Fraser Island is obviously bigger and better than HK, but the comparison in this instance is apt.

We use the prefix 'Mainland' in front of China to denote the central China landmass, separate from the outlying Islands.

Hong Kong is literally not a part of 'Mainland' China.

I thought lawyers were supposed to be good with words Burgey? Then again, English probably isn't your native language.

I think I’ll get the ferry out to Shark Island because I want to get away from mainland Australia.

You’ll need to change your thinking once the bridge opens. When is it due? Next month or two isn’t it?

It's soon. I've been watching the construction of it take place over the last year or so. HK engineering and construction is fantastic. They've done a real good job.

A bridge doesn't mean we become a part of the 'Mainland' tho.

Actually I do think a small little strip of Kowloon Island somewhere is connected to the mainland - somehwere far up North East. We don't talk about that part.

If I have a week I'd definitely do a SE Asian destination from Australia though. Value for money is ridiculous compared with almost anywhere else that isn't Mexico, and that's a crazy distance to travel for a week. Bali, Boroki, Thailand, Vietnam. All awesome destinations imo.
I always prefer Fiji or even Hawaii if you have more time. Can't argue with the value for money though, SEA is absurdly cheap

Just did eight days in Hawaii in March. It was ok. Lovely scenery of course, but I wouldn't hurry back unless I had to or it was at least a partial freebie like the last trip was. I enjoyed the North Shore of Oahu, and of course Pearl Harbour is fascinating, but Honolulu itself is basically Surfers with far worse beaches and really over priced food.

Loved the Big Island though. I think if I went back I'd really want to go to Maui or Molokai.

One thread was enough, its not funny anymore. I shouldn't have to read through pages of **** talk by you ****s when I'm looking to discuss cricket. Take it somewhere else.

Ambrose has a batsman-like fifty against Australia but Waqar was a mug.

Secondly, let's be unorthodox and make AB and Sanga each keep in turns for 50 overs.

As someone said above, good luck pushing Tendulkar higher up the order than 4!
I know he didn't open in tests, but think he's probably the best option with Hayden. He bats where he's told if I'm the coach and Ponting is captain! Otherwise he doesn't play!

Flower wasn't a great keeper, though that would make Wasim feel right at home with a mug behind the stumps. You have 3 'keepers in one team and a makeshift 'keeper in the 2nd.

De Villiers is too good of a fielder to be wasted at keeper. I consider him a fielder in my mind because of that. As for Sangakkara "after mid-2006, when he gave up wicketkeeping and started playing as a specialist batsman, he has averaged an astounding 65.65, with 29 hundreds from 74 matches." Therefore Sangakkara has to play in the first team as a batsman only in my view.

Flower did keep and I don't remember him being bad personally. Perhaps you did and remember better than me. But in real life practice you'd obviously have a squad of more than one keeper and you'd be able to decide the team from that. They would have to train together and play practice matches. If Flower couldn't keep capably against the bowlers then he'd just be in the team as a batsman and there would be a different keeper picked. I just added the 2nd team for fun quickly, first team is more relevant.

Ah, fair enough. Looks like we are more or less at a consensus in the first XI, except for the openers. Now how different would a ODI XI be?
