Paul wants the bigger team to go through even they play badly. ridiculous/.....Paul Allott just said on Sky, "I think the ICC have to look at the group stage again to ensure that the biggest teams get through."
Yes, that's what he said.
Surely Bangladesh deserve to be in that group tooPersonally, I'd rather the competition was held between Australia, South Africa, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, India and Pakistan.
I agreePaul Allott just said on Sky, "I think the ICC have to look at the group stage again to ensure that the biggest teams get through."
Yes, that's what he said.
They haven't really managed to string together a decent amound of good performances. They are pretty much on the fringe though.Surely Bangladesh deserve to be in that group too
If you want the cricket to played by only top 8 in the bigger competitions, then why do you name it as World Cup. Or why do play with 16 nations. If the top 8 are so good then they shud have to outplay the smaller nations. If they dont do that, then there is no good to say that they are top in cricket. You got to beat each and every team and each every challege posed to you, to win WC. Its not a cake walk...Mr. Paul
Have never been a fan of the whole 100 logic. You don't play for what people might say any way. You play for what suits your team best So that part of your reasoning is flawed from a larger perspective.Except KP's was 104 off 122 which isn't terribly slow. He could have hit out a little earlier but if he did and got out on 90 he would have received even more critisism.
It also helps with NRR I suppose if you get teams out quickly and then make the runs fast. Not that Australia needs NRR but for other teams, it can be crucial. What's with all these teams electing to field first against the minnows?..
Having said that, I'm sure that's not what's going on with Ponting. I think he just wants to get the game over and done with, which is fair enough.
Spot the common denominator.Paul Allott is just an idiot to really criticise the associate nations like that, why does he blame Ireland the Aussies have made every team they have faced through the WC look like associate nations so why be so hyper-critical about Ireland's performance today.
Why didn't Mr.Allott come up with such comments when Ireland made 218 against England without getting bowled out or when England limped through to a victory against Bangladesh.
