also I feel like Miller's WPI is a very overblown point, the fact is that he never bothered to bowl much to tail as others cleaned that up. As far as top 7 wickets go

Miller: 1.39 per innings.
Lindwall: 1.42 per innings.
Pollock: 1.47 per inning.

not really bad.

An interesting question is - how often would Miller bowl himself? (you’d presume in an average side he’d be given captaincy) He was reticent to bowl himself iirc, and on an average team would he not try and focus more on his batting? Interesting hypothetical

heh, I don’t see him taking it that seriously or respecting an “average” captain

I will say this - Miller could definitely bowl a lot when required. In fact both have the same amount of innings where they bowled 40+ overs (3)

If theses are the stats were pulling out, it must be getting desperate.

He saw himself as a batsman and even in first class was resistant to taking on heavy workloads.

By splitting the duties in tests I don't think he got the most out of either.
