Semi-Final #2- New Zealand v South Africa- Wednesday, March 5th- Lahore

Yeah it's a mix of both T20 and test cricket with room for both types of batsmen and bowlers, it's still a good format despite people saying it's obsolete.
Often the more memorable ODIs have tended to be closer to tests (or at least have given the bowlers a real say), but the people who matter want them to be more like T20s. Unfortunately that is unlikely to change.

I've always found that the beauty of ODI cricket is that you can be in a bad position, but there's enough time to get out of that position if you are skillful enough, it allows you to absorb good bowling and release it back .

Things that irrationally annoy me:

On the comparison worm graph, why would you use green for NZ and a dark blue for SA?

We could do with a wicket.

I think ODI cricket is the most important format for running between the wickets.
Dean Jones raised the running between wickets standards in ODIs, he turned ones into twos that the likes of Jonty Rhodes and Phillips have followed.

He was also the first guy to wear sunglasses in an ODI match, an ODI revolutionary in more ways than one.

He turned the one's into 2's because he did 2 things better than any other ODI batsman.

1.He really ran hard for the first run.. (Fit guy who could do it throughout the 50 overs)
2.Once he ran that single no matter what he never remained in the crease and always trotted about 2-3 metres up the pitch just in case the fielder then misfielded to give himself a leg up in backing up again.

That's a horrible 2 overs for SA, just 2 singles taken. Bavuma getting bogged down again, can he get out of this slump?

I can't believe I ate the whole thing

Some of the design choices fr this tournament have been "interesting"

My biggest gripe is having the two batting innings side by side at the top and the bowling innings underneath. For some reason, it doesn't read right to me as opposed to the bowling innings next to the batting innings on the horizontal.

South Africa doing the right thing so far, though it's still a massive chase.

Only half watching, could Williamson have got two hands to that chance?

Wonder if it may be worth giving Mitchell a go and seeing if he can bowl wicket to wicket with pace off. Of course South Africa have to do all the running but they're well capable of accelerating properly with wickets in hand and NZ's death bowling isn't great.

Yes, a format that's worked fine for decades suddenly needs changing? Mind you, still better than The Hundred!!
