Seen them in the flesh XI

Dasa

International Vice-Captain
Kirsten
Hayden
Ponting
Dravid
Tendulkar
Lara
Inzamam
Gilchrist
Flintoff
Warne
McGrath
Murali

Could change a few names easily though. Going to games like the Tsunami Appeal match and the Super Series has meant I've been able to see quite a few of the 'stars' in action.
Noticed I put in 12 rather than 11 players, and forgot some I saw in action, so here's an updated Best XI I've seen:
Kirsten
Hayden
Ponting
Tendulkar
Lara
S Waugh
Gilchrist
Warne
McGrath
Donald
Murali

And a 2nd XI:
Langer
Sehwag
Dravid
Kallis
Pietersen
Inzamam
Sangakkara
Flintoff
Pollock
Vettori
Shoaib

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone though.

  5. Lara
  6. Sobers
  7. Imran
  8. Bob Taylor
  9. Hadlee
  10. Lillee
  11. Muralitharan

The second XI wouldnt be much worse though

  1. Hunte
  2. Hanif
  3. Cowdrey
  4. Barrington
  5. Dexter
  6. Botham
  7. Marshall
  8. Knott
  9. Warne
  10. Roberts
  11. Prasanna

and a third

  1. Hayden
  2. Haynes
  3. Ponting
  4. Dravid
  5. Kanhai
  6. Gilchrist
  7. Kapil
  8. Benaud
  9. Donald
  10. Holding
  11. Bedi

There are still Hall, Walsh, Ambrose, McGrath, Wasim, Waqar. Fazal Mehmood, Donald etc from pacers to go. Chandra, Kumble, Underwood etc from spinners. Vishwanath, Waugh, Kallicharan, Lloyd, Zaheer, Miandad, Inzy, Sutcliffe etc from middle order batsmen !! I am sure there are others I dont immediately recall

Just shows how nearly impossible it is to name an XI with a great degree of certainity. This is just from my lifetime's watching and we think we can decide for 140 years of cricket :)

Looking back, reckon I could name two or three XIs I've seen. Guess I've been extremely lucky to see all those guys play.

You'd bat Imran ahead of Gilchrist? ITSTL.

For me:

Michael Slater/Justin Langer
Matthew Hayden
Ricky Ponting
Sachin Tendulkar
Brian Lara
Steve Waugh
Adam Gilchrist
Shane Warne
Malcolm Marshall
Curtley Ambrose
Glenn McGrath

Pretty heavy on Aussies, but I've only seen cricket played here, plus most of the games I've seen have been in the period they've been the best in the world so...

Tendulkar has got out cheaply or spent the day in the field in every day's play I've gone to where he was playing... :(
