SA tour of India may not happen

Are you really comparing England's boycott of the World Cup game (which they were punished for) with India cancelling a tour, allegedly because they're tired, then arranging a One Day Tournament (which they haven't been punished for)?
England's boycott was ridiculous given that they were perfectly happy to host Zimbabwe a few months after the wc game.

What had changed ? Nothing......

The English Cricket Borad simply wanted to make money out of the Zimbabweans.

Yes well England certainly did obey didn't they when they refused to play their WC match in Zimbabwe despite the ICC not sanctioning any boycott ?

So the ICC have sanctioned the Indians pulling out of a tour through "tiredness" then arranging a One Day Tournament then have they?

The ICC punished England, so why haven't they punished others for pulling out of scheduled things?

But the Indians were tired (they should've gone though IMO) and England boycotted the WC game, then called Zim over for a series at home! Germansheppard is just pointing out the irony. And you also said that if there's some $$ to be earned, then the Indians will be ready, then what about what England did?

In fairness, there had been 'death threats' received, questions had been raised over security issues which hadn't been satisfactorily answered as far as the players were concerned and complaints had been made that the players were being kept 'out of the loop'.

Mind you, the idea that the ECB wanted to 'make money out of the Zimbabweans' is quite wonderfully preposterous - I congratulate you on giving me a good chuckle.

There's not much dosh to be made out of a Zimbabwe tour of England, unfortunately, so that bit's nonsense.

The WC boycott was over security, besides.

Then how do you explain why they held the Zimbabwe tour after persuading the ZCU, then wanting to boycott their reciprocal tour to Zimbabwe?

The English were targets specifically because of the political decisions of their country. I dont think any other country faced such a problem with Zimbabwe. The situations and pressures faced by England and the rest of the world were different.

That does put a question mark on why England hosted Zimbabwe ,though.

Same reason as why they will in all likelihood still end up going this year if their hand is forced - the alternative at the time would have been suspension from the ICC.

If that threat manifests itself over the forthcoming tour, though, I'm advocating that England call the ICC's bluff. Then, if the inevitable suspension is implemented, we can start to get some sense back into world cricket.

Face it, the ICC couldn't organise a pi**-up in a brewery if someone printed the invitations - and they certainly couldn't stop an Ashes series.

Well isn't the bloke at the top an Aussie, so he'd provide that thing that they call Beer but the rest of the world call urine!

That's obviously the reason for attempting to expand the game across the Atlantic, then. They'll drink anything - I've seen 'National Lampoons Animal House'.

I think re. this decision the BCCI has just made it clear there's no chance and poured mud on some people's money theories.
