Then the ICC shouldve been smarter than trying to fit the SA tour in the short period between the Champions trophy and the Australia tour.

Wonder if the ICC would have planned for Australia to play 2 tests in England and then to return home....a quickie Ashes ?
Spot on.

And BTW Orangepitch where in Navi Mumbai are you?

No, because England don't play home Tests in October...

For the past one year , India have played no ODI cricket at home save for the TVS triangular. Over the next 6 months , the SA ODIs will be the only ODI action at home for India.

How the hell is the BCCI to earn money ?Tests dont fill the coffers, ODIs do.

Show me one other major country willing to play just one ODI series at home in a period of One and a half years. :@
It's not SA's fault if India has playe only one ODI series in last one year, Why should South Africa play ODIs in stead of Tests. The main problem it seems is that Indian Board wants to squeeze in a series with Pakistan in between for obvious reasons.

The problem with BCCI is that it is run by a nincompoop named Jagmohan Dalmiya. If India has played only one ODI series in India in last year then what is the point in organizing a stupid tournament in Holland, why not organize it in your country itself ? Why agree to play countless ODIs in other countries ?

I haven't read the whole story, but where did the probem actually arise. I mean these things were scheduled way back so what happened suddenly
Nothing except that BCCI wants to play Pakistan in December and a series with Pakistan is always more lucrative than a series against SA. It's all about money.

I think a Test series of 3 Tests and 5 ODIs should be suffient if it meets to schedule.

About the lack of ODIS in INdia, that was my personal rant and is not to be linked to the SA visit.

Dont think India-Pakistan have a series on this year.

I dont think Dalmiya suggested Holland as a venue...Since development of cricket in Holland was the aim, its obvious ICC was the one who wanted Holland to be the venue.

I didnt say October.
Anytime , will England and Australia agree to a 2 test series ?
they refused to reduce the Ashes tests from 5 to 3.....why expect India to agree to a 2 test series ?

Well, most teams tend to, but there are the odd boards that tend to think they can run roughshod over the rules and do what they want (like cancelling scheduled tours)

Are you really comparing England's boycott of the World Cup game (which they were punished for) with India cancelling a tour, allegedly because they're tired, then arranging a One Day Tournament (which they haven't been punished for)?

Yes well England certainly did obey didn't they when they refused to play their WC match in Zimbabwe despite the ICC not sanctioning any boycott ?
