Are there any historical own goal stats/records available? Seems like theres been a abnormally high number of them this tournament

ESPN saying the OG has been given to the defender and not the keeper. Rough on the defender.

These Spanish corners with two players standing over the ball look particularly dumb when they don't look threatening from going short OR direct. If they get caught short on a counter they've only themselves to blame.

Commentators earlier said 18 in Euros history, 9 in this tournament. Not sure if they specified if the 9 are included in that 18 though.

Not really. It categorically was the defender's OG. Besides, nobody will remember anything other than Simon's gaffe, regardless of what it says on paper.

Two good saves by the Spanish keeper by the end of the half there.

BBC reckons there's been four oggies from keepers in Euro finals, all in 2020/21, and that there's been nine overall in the tournament so far, as many as all the previous tournaments combined.

Anyway, as amusing as the oggie was, I still think Paul Robinson's airkick v Croatia tops it:

Neville sr. was credited with the OG, but the custodian surely merited the assist?
