I think a system could work well if it were only positive reputation and only in the Cricket Chat forum. It could help people see at an instant how well agreed someone's cricket views are.

But that would just lead to even more of a cliquey environment, and further alienate new members. Agree with what seems to be the majority in saying it wouldn't be the best idea.

Would destroy the 'quirkier' members of the site though in the rep stakes.
