The Perera innings was immense. That was a fantastic bowling attack he faced, five frontline bowlers too. And a last wicket partnership of almost 80. Lara's was equally astonishing. Why choose? They are both two of the greatest individual innings of the modern age.

Both are so similar. Both teams chasing similar targets against strong bowling attacks. Narrowly giving it to Parera because he was involved in much bigger 11th wicket partnership.

It's Perera duh. Both were against incredibly awesome bowling attacks but the away instead of home factor is a huge difference. It's not a case of it slightly tipping the needle toward him, it's a straight up 2 v 1 soccer scoreline.

He's a pretty random player to possess the greatest knock ever but thems be the facts. He probably still pinches himself that he managed to pull it out his slogging ass

Whatever it takes!!!
The pitch for the Lara game was a standard day 5 pitch by my recollection. Not a minefield or anything. Then again neither was Perera's so I dunno
I never said it was a minefield. I think it was the toughest pitch out of the innings sunilz listed in the other thread, well, except the Botham game as I did not see that one live.

Very hard to choose. Tempted to give it to Lara on account of the history between WI and AUS and the emerging state of WI cricket more than for it being a genuinely superior knock.
