King Kane

It's not about flatness tbf he has scored hundreds in testing conditions against great Aussie attacks at home + this 100 on a joke of a pitch v India where no one else passed 50

I stand corrected, you would have watched more of him than me, I'm a fan of his as he is a talented batsman but I haven't seen him score tough runs.

You could argue these are tough runs though, the pitch might be flat but the bowlers are still tough and the pressure of winning a WTC final is tough.

Absolutely do get your point. He is the epitome of rocks and diamonds. He seems to run with things when it is his day and his talent shines through but I would love to see him score runs when he isn't necessarily playing well. Tough runs in circumstance and the ability to be hungry to score runs when it's not coming out the middle and that takes getting through tough periods.

Just woke up and. He led the score. Terrific from SA. Any missed chances or have they just batted well?

I think there was one but very good batting here, pitch is dead but doesn't take away credit from them, Bavuma has a hamstring issue and is limping around, has been limping the whole inning.

I think Australia lost this game in the 1st innings. Smith, carey and head all threw there wickets away after getting in during that middle part of day 1 where the sun was out and conditions where similar to this with slightly more bounce.

Bavuma got dropped on single figures by smith at slip. Dislocated his finger when he dropped it aswell. Smith was very close at slip because of the low bounce and one came fast off an edge and did his finger a number.

Was firmly in the camp that SA would get nowhere near this chase, even if the pitch has flattened a little. They still might collapse after a wicket but this is a great fight now.
