I'm not sure, but the two others both disagreed quite strongly. The argument was that it's letting your team mates down if you get out playing an attacking shot just before lunch.

It's wild how even former players can't grasp basics of the game sometimes. Passing up on a +EV shot just because it's close to lunch is sub optimal. Unless they are arguing that the batter is taking a reckless or nonstandard shot, but that's a different discussion. Also new batsmen would much rather come out after a lunch/tea break instead of mid session. You get more time to warm up and get mind right.
